BODY MASSAGE

Introduction

This is a VTCT (Vocational Training and Charitable Trust) level 3 course which will run over 5 days and a return day for assessment and exams. This level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage (QCF) is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in how to provide the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of body massage.

Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, and client care and communication. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification, such as anatomy and physiology.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in providing body massage treatments to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to provide your own services for clients. Units in this qualification have been mapped to the relevant NOS (where applicable).

This qualification is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal pre-requisites that you need for this course although a qualification in anatomy & physiology is recommended and can be done prior to or alongside this qualification.

Course Content

You will need to complete and record treatments in the form of case studies and sit 2 multiple choice exam papers.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform you own salon services and gain insurance with your certificate.

The mandatory units for this course are:

  • UV30491 - Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
  • UV30468- Client care and communication in beauty related industries
  • UV30424 - Provide body massage

You will develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide Swedish massage services.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety and client care. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide relaxing massage treatments using classical Swedish massage movements. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Costs

Course costs will be £589 plus registration fees. Comprehensive training materials provided and full tutor support throughout the course. Small groups for one to one tuition.
