BODY MASSAGE

Introduction

The VTCT level 3 Diploma in massage is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a massage therapist. This qualification is designed to support you to gain employment as a massage therapist/practitioner as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. This qualification has been mapped to the relevant NOS (national occupational standards) and is regulated on the RQF (regulated qualifications framework). This qualification is approved and supported by Skills for Health, the sector skills council for health.

The mandatory units cover the following: knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice and business practice, anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies. You will also develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide body massage treatments.

Pre-requisites

There is now a mandatory additional unit VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Complementary Therapies and Sports Massage (IP2AA)which has to be taken before any practical exams can be. This is an online exam with knowledge gained from prior reading from a booklet and powerpoints in your own time which is meant to take an extra 4 learning hours.

Course Content

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to use massage techniques for relaxation and to promote self-healing for your clients. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients. Below is an outline of the course content and units to be covered.

  • UV31268 Principles and practice of complementary therapies
  • UV31267 Business practice for complementary therapies
  • UV31299 Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies
  • UV31300 Provide body massage for complementary therapies

Case Studies & exams

You will need to complete and record 60 treatments in the form of case studies and sit 2 multiple choice exam papers.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform you own salon services and gain insurance with your certificate.

Costs

Course costs will be £899 and £126 registration fees. This fee can be paid over a 4 month payment plan if required. The cost includes all comprehensive training materials, exam costs and full tutor support throughout the course.

NOTE: At Freedom Therapies Training we only teach within small groups for individual attention with no more than 4 students on a course for one to one tuition.
