This is a VTCT (Vocational Training and Charitable Trust) level 3 course which will run over 8 full days and a return day for exam and assessments.

This qualification is based on the complementary therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional association, the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) as being fit for purpose for preparing you for a career as an aromatherapist. Holders of the qualification are eligible to become a professional member of BABTAC, FHT and many other professional bodies and gain insurance.

A recognised level 3 body massage qualification is necessary prior to undertaking this qualification.

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as an aromatherapist including mandatory units covering the following:

• UV31268 - Principles and practice of complementary therapies
• UV31267 - Business practice for complementary therapies
• UV31299 - Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies
• UV31301 - Provide aromatherapy for complementary therapies

You will also develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide aromatherapy services.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and essential oils. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to blend essential oils in a tailor-made fashion for each client and provide relaxing aromatherapy massage treatments using different massage techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

You will need to complete and record treatments in the form of case studies and sit 2 multiple choice exam papers.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services and gain insurance with your certificate.
